This photo was taken in May of 2020 when are supposed 8th grade graduate would have been. Unfortunately, due to Covid it was cancelled. But, we were allowed to go to the front of the school, take our mask off, and get a nice photo of ourselves. I also decided to grow my hair out during then and it got to the point where it was crazy long, as it is nearly covering my eyes in the picture.
I like the facial expression because it blends in well with the context. You are allowed to take your mask off and be yourself, so you are experiencing a sense of freedom and excitement to breath fresh air out in public. At least that’s how I understand it.
