Digital Detox Goal

I have decided to do the easy plan. Although, I want to challenge myself and try the harder challenge, with how much work I have to do over the weekend I feel that it would be best to set an attainable goal that I can accomplish.

After completing my weekend of digital detox, I learned that it was not what I had expected. Because I chose the easy plan I was able to complete my detox with ease and without having to cheat. I found it very difficult to not reach for my phone when I received an instagram notification or a TikTok notification. Emotionally I felt like I was missing out on something on my phone. Questions of are my friends planning events without me kept running through my head. However, after I noticed that was not the case and I was emotionally stressing over nothing. This brought up the question if social media adds more stress to my life. This experience allowed me to see how reliant I am on my social media for a sense of comfort. It allowed me to learn that social plays a bigger role in my life then I believed and that I need to start breaking free from the bonds that social media ties me down with. Going forward my goal is to limit my social media use and to stop relying on it as a feeling of comfort.
