Storytelling Map

For my digital detox, I focused on one simple change: managing notifications. It might not seem like much, but it made a huge difference. Over Thanksgiving break, I spent less than five hours on social media—a big improvement for me. What really helped was keeping myself busy with other activities, so I didn’t have much free time to get distracted or mindlessly scroll through social media.

In the future, I plan to Declutter my Digital Space from unnecessary emails and notifications. As for “Do Not Disturb” mode, I’ve decided not to use it after once missing an important meeting while it was on. Instead, I’ll try to find a balance between staying accessible and staying focused. This detox showed me how small changes can make a big difference.

This my storyboard for my final project, I’m focusing on essentials every international student coming to the College of Wooster in Ohio might need. I’m also planning to gather student opinions on the best recommendations and which ones they advise for new students, along with some insights from my own experience as finding a job on campus.

It includes vital places such as grocery stores, transportation hubs, medical centers, barbershops, and essential service providers. Designed to help students navigate their first days and weeks, the map offers practical information on where to find necessary items for self-care and living, ensuring that students feel supported and confident in their new environment. This Map aims to make settling in easier, offering a user-friendly reference for international students to explore their new surroundings with ease.
